About GEO Turf
Independent technical expertise across the project lifecycle.
Founded in 2005, GEO Turf Consulting is a specialist sports-surface consultancy working across turf development, civil engineering, geotechnics, landscaping, water management and agronomy.
The consultancy works independently and as part of wider teams with engineers, architects and landscape designers, supporting natural, hybrid and synthetic facilities from feasibility and design through construction, testing and aftercare.

Jonathan is a trained agronomist and soil scientist with around forty years' experience in sports-facility design, construction, testing and maintenance.
Before establishing GEO Turf Consulting in 2005, Jonathan managed a regional office for the Sports Turf Research Institute. He has since worked as a pitch consultant for UEFA and FIFA and led design, project-management and construction-monitoring work across major UK and international facilities.
His wider technical work includes co-founding the ProPitch Management System, expert-witness commissions, sports-soil laboratory research and technical papers. He was lead author of SAPCA UK guidance for natural sports turf and is a member of the Register of Independent Professional Turfgrass Agronomists.

GEO Turf combines soil science and agronomy with drainage, water management, civil engineering, 3D ground modelling and construction monitoring. Its assessment capability includes laboratory material testing, playing-performance testing, and thermal and multispectral remote sensing used to examine moisture distribution, grass health, density and vigour.
